DISUD - Danish Institute for Sustainable Development
Karsten Krogh Andersen
Water, Energy and Environment
Helps to define and implement your projects
DISUD offers environmental consulting services to municipallities, industries, contractors and environmental agencies. The objects are especially ecosolutions, climate change, energy savings, resource efficiency, ecodesign, environmental approvals, green accounts, outlets approvals, drainage systems, wastewater treatment, recipients, flooding, water supply, benchmarking and waste. DISUD has broad professional qualifications from chemistry, thermodynamics and hydraulics to economy and organisations.
DISUD also do research and development on environment and environmental engineering. DISUD do eco-innovation and has developed small costeffective wastewater treatment plants for single houses in rural areas. Also DISUD has developed methods for measuring ressourceefficiency of industries, branches, municipallities and nations. DISUD analyses and collects researchresults on climate change and evaluates relevant actions for mitigation for - and adaption to - climate changes.
To this end DISUD has developed an energyproducing wastewater treatment plant, which turns wastewater treatment plants into power plants with minimal emision of greenhousegases from the treatment processes. The energy producing wastewater treatmnet plant withdraws organics and ammonia from the wastewater to produce surplus energy, which can be delievered to the neighbours. So instead of being great energy consumers wastewatertreatment plants become surplus energy producers.
